BitDevs Kampala
BitDevs Kampala is a monthly, technical Bitcoin reading group — modeled on the original NYC BitDevs format. We work through mailing list threads, BIPs, recent Bitcoin Core / LND / CLN pull requests, and whatever’s contentious that month. Regular attendance is 30+ people, ranging from complete beginners to protocol contributors.
My role
I organize the sessions: picking reading material, finding presenters, and running the room. It’s the main way I stay plugged into the wider East African Bitcoin developer community.
Sample session archive — replace with real dates/links:
- 2026-06: Session on onion messaging in LDK Node.
- 2026-04: Walkthrough of BIP326 (Taproot input privacy) and its implications for wallet implementers.
- 2026-02: Reading group on the Concept ACK / tACK review vocabulary used in LND and Bitcoin Core PR review.
